My name is Nikki Latham. I have been involved in radio for more years than I care to mention here. For the past year I have been so pleased to be involved in Chesil Radio which has become my life. I live and breathe Chesil Radio 24/7.
I present and produce those core shows in the week at Breakfast and Drive Time on the station bringing my musical and local knowledge to the listeners. My love of music I have got to thank my dad for and my musical tastes date from the 1940s to present day. But my biggest love is the 80s.
This year I took the step from being "just" a presenter and producer into the management side with my role as station controller and scheduler which I have loved. Also been great to see some new talent join the airwaves with a little coaching and encouragement from myself and the team.
I have also learned so much not just from the technical stuff behind the scenes but also developed myself in my interviewing skills with a variety of events and people and also learnt about new sports, with a new passion for wheelchair rugby with the Dorset Destroyers and the speedway with the Weymouth Damers Blinds Wildcats. If someone had told me a year ago I would be track side at Speedway meetings I wouldn't have believed them.
I would like to thank those who have made the past year an exciting roller coaster of a journey, with more highs than lows and subject to my health I hope that the coming years will be just as adrenalin filled.
I love to hear from the listeners so feel free to get in touch, especially when I am live on our usual places. I hope you enjoy listening to Chesil Radio as much as I enjoy being part of it.
