Chesil Radio's First Weymouth Carnival
This year, Chesil Radio has joined up with the Weymouth "Damers Blinds" Wildcats to parade with them in the Weymouth Carnival.
The float will be the loudest in the parade with the bikes alone but with the music provided by Chesil Radio team as the "Pink Ladies".
Chesil Radio has helped decorate the float with umbrellas that may actually come in handy dependent on the weather.
Nikki Latham, Volunteer Station Controller for Chesil Radio said: " Alone we would not have been able to partake in the Weymouth Carnival but with the Wildcats and with us supporting them with music it is a great combination. The "pink ladies" idea came from the Wildcats former captain whose nickname was Frenchy. The "pink ladies" present Girl Power night on the station and believe we are the only station that has an all-female night of presenting."
The station is running coverage all day on Wednesday and can be found at www.chesilradio.com. We are a not-for-profit station and all our team are volunteers, however we are looking for sponsors to help pay for the costs to travel from Weymouth to Plymouth for the speedway meetings and also other events that we are invited to but cannot attend due to cost.
Chesil Radio is the only online station covering the home meetings of the Speedway's Southern Development League live for the Weymouth Wildcats and hopes to cover the remaining ones of the season and the those that have had to be rescheduled due to the bad weather in Plymouth earlier in the season.
