This Valentine’s Day, relive the Mario Lanza songs that captured the hearts of a generation

John Hudson, Mario Lanza and me

Wednesay 14 February

Dorchester Corn Exchange

This Valentine’s Day, join internationally acclaimed tenor John Hudson and relive the songs that captured the hearts of a generation with classics such as O Sole Mio, Vesti La Guibba and I’ll Walk With God.

A long-standing principal for the English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera and frequent guest for opera companies worldwide, John credits a chance encounter in 1973 with a gramophone and a Mario Lanza LP as a life-changing moment.

His show is a loving tribute to one of the world’s greatest voices. John shows us how Mario changed not only his life, but the lives of many more. Stolen from the opera world by Hollywood, he became the world’s first “crossover” artist.

Tickets are £15 full price or £13 for Members of Dorchester Arts, under-18s or those on low income and are available from the Dorchester Arts box office on 01305 266926, in person at the Corn Exchange (weekdays 10am - 4pm) or via www.dorchesterarts.org.uk.
