Viking storytellers bring The Sagas of Noggin the Nog to the stage.

The Sagas of Noggin the Nog

Sunday 11 February

Dorchester Corn Exchange

This is a delightfully different show for families and fans brings the wonderful tales of Noggin created by Oliver Postgate & Peter Firmin to the stage at Dorchester Arts on Sunday 11 February at 2.30pm.

Viking storytellers recreate the wonderful world of Noggin in this new piece of theatre for children, families and fans. With Silly Vikings, puppets, projection and live music. Accompanied by the brave and mighty Thor Nogson and the great green bird Graculus, they travel north on a journey of adventure and discovery, to battle against the fearsome ice dragon and the dastardly deeds of Noggin’s wicked uncle, Nogbad the Bad!

Peter Firmin talks with childlike enthusiasm about the Noggin stage show: "When we saw it, we were delighted because it's a bit silly." He often uses the word silly in an entirely positive context. "I think the show appeals to all ages really, to people who remember the series and children who've never seen it.”

Expect silly Vikings, puppets, projection and live music!

Then, join Dorchester Arts favourite Abi Thommes on Monday 12 February for a fantastic workshop inspired by Noggin the Nog. Using role-play to build a ship and sail the seas, participants will get the opportunity to make props for a play including shields, helmets and masks. The workshop finale will be a performance for parents and carers of all that has been created! Tickets are just £4 if you also buy a ticket for The Sagas of Noggin the Nog!

Tickets are £9 full price or £7 for Members of Dorchester Arts, under-18s or those on low income, £28 family ticket (max. 2 adults) and are available from the Dorchester Arts box office on 01305 266926, in person at the Corn Exchange (weekdays 10am - 4pm) or via www.dorchesterarts.org.uk.
