British Love Affair With The Shower - Average Showering Time Hits 4 Days A Year!
Brits are spending up to four days a year showering, according to a survey by Radox. The survey found that the average Brit takes 10 showers per week, lasting around 12 minutes each. Over half of the respondents (53%) shower twice a day, with the most popular times being 6:15am and 5:13pm. Additionally, the survey revealed that a significant portion of people (28%) rely on showers to lift their mood, with 26% believing it can completely reverse a bad mood. Conservation is also a factor, as 56% of respondents admitted to increasing their shower frequency to save time and water, despite their love for relaxing baths.

Scent is crucial for enhancing our shower experience, as 65% of individuals believe that a fragrant shower gel can uplift their mood. Lemon is the most preferred scent (31%), followed by mint (28%), lavender (21%), and strawberry (20%). Scent selection varies based on different occasions, with 53% of people opting for different smells. Lavender (27%) is favoured for relaxation, mint (12%) for post-workout refreshment, and strawberry (12%) for feeling confident before a date.

Showering not only refreshes three-quarters (74%) of respondents but also serves as the perfect wake-up routine according to 87% of individuals. Singing in the shower is a common practice, with popular songs including Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" (16%), Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" (14%), and Bryan Adams' "Summer of 69" (13%). Modern hits like Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" (10%), Backstreet Boys' "I Want it That Way" (10%), Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" (10%), and Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" (10%).
