What happens when theatre meets art? And why should life-drawing be all about a nude on a box?

Join us for a unique take on the traditional life-drawing class. Alive & Drawing events feature varied and sometimes surprising set-ups, using props, music, lights, costumes, movement, narrative, masks and more to inspire you and awaken the artist’s sense of adventure. Suitable for all abilities and any age over 10yrs. Beginners very welcome!

Learn the basics in a creative and supportive environment. Equally, if you are a working artist and don’t require any teaching, this is a great opportunity to draw unexpected subjects!

The session is taught by Alex Cree, a professional painter. He has been teaching drawing for over 15 years and he tailors his teaching to the individual. Go to www.alexcree.co.uk to see his work.

Penny Levick, a theatre performer and director, is in charge of the setups, models, themes and music. Together they have run Alive And Drawing classes in London for many years and are now bringing it to Dorchester.

We provide the materials: charcoal, pencils rubbers, fixative, ink, pastels, easels and drawing boards. Paper is available at cost price, sold in A1 sheets. You are also welcome to bring in a sketchbook or any other materials you wish to use.
