Fundraiser For Wilf With Chesil Radio & The "Award Winning" Royal Oak

Chesil Radio was saddened to hear of young Wilf in Weymouth and his health battle, our Nikki, who knew his uncle for many years, wanted to do something to raise funds for this young man's family and a passing comment on New Years Eve at The Royal Oak on Dorchester Road, hatched a fundraising plan.

Chesil Radio is known for supporting many pubs with their quiz nights, discos, etc and thought to combine this with a fabulous venue and we are pleased to announce that we will be making our venue debut with a fundraising quiz on Thursday 26th January at the Royal Oak at Lodmoor Hill in Weymouth, starting at 7.30pm.

As always with Chesil Radio's quiz nights, it's £2 per person and teams of 6 maximum. It's all on pen and paper, that will be provided on the night. All entry fees will be donated to Wilf's family, to support them during his recovery. The Royal Oak is providing a prize for the winner and there will be the loser's spoon too. The quiz is written by our quiz mistress and station controller, Nikki Latham, who also is the quiz mistress on the night too. Additionally, there will be a raffle to raise additional funds.

Nikki says: "The Royal Oak has been raising money with a fundraising pot on the bar since the news came through about Wilf, and Chesil Radio wanted to find some way to help. I met Billy, Wilf's uncle, over a decade ago, and have offered our services for this event for free, so that all the entry fees can go direct to Wilf's family. I am grateful to The Royal Oak for taking on the idea and hosting this for such a good cause. I have been quiz mistress for more years than I can remember and always love giving back when I can to the local community, especially with the radio station."

Come on down and enjoy the quiz, while raising vital funds for the family.
