More Trains Strikes On The Way - GWR Have Their Plans In Place

More rail strikes are on their way and our friends at GWR have put their plans out ahead of the action on Saturday 5th, Monday 7th and Wednesday 9th November.

Although it is not all week the services on non-strike days will be affected with late starting services and early finishes during the whole period from Saturday to Thursday next week.

As you know some of our areas will have no service at all and those services that do run with be severely restricted not starting until 0730 and finishing around 1830, as all services will be completed by then.

There will be no bus replacement and you should check before you travel on the train companies websites.

GWR are advising to find alternative ways to travel on these days, which we know in some area is impossible and to only travel if absolutely necessary as the services that are running will be extremely busy.

Anyone travelling to the rugby at Cardiff on Saturday is advised not to use the train at all.

Customers who already have tickets for the strike days can claim a full refund or amend their tickets. Those who do travel and are delayed may be entitled to the usual delay repay if delayed by more than 15 minutes with GWR (different timings apply to other train companies). GWR's Refund and Book with Confidence policies remain in place and with return tickets you can claim a refund for part of your journey.

To help if possible you may choose to travel on a different day without needing to change your tickets.

Tickets for the 5th November are valid between 4th November to 11th November.

Tickets for the 6th November are valid between 6th November to 11th November

Tickets for the 7th November are valid between 6th November to 11th November.

Tickets for the 9th November are valid between 8th November to 11th November.

The RMT, TSSA and Unite trades unions are those who are striking. However, for example TSSA strike action doesn't affect GWR on the 5th, but alongside them Unite has gone on strike that will affect GWR.

We will keep you as up to date as possible here, but always check before you travel.
