Portsmouth City Council Wants More To Celebrate Queen's 70th Anniversary

Over 60 roads across Portsmouth have applied to hold a street party to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and Portsmouth City Council is hoping more will apply before the deadline on 16th March 2022.
As with many councils in our area, they will be covering the cost of the public liability insurance (usually £50), for street parties during the four days of Jubilee celebrations (2nd-5th June 2022). They are also waivering the usual road closure fee.
An application must be completed to hold a street party and for Portsmouth City residents a simplified and specific online form can be found at www.portsmouth.gov.uk/jubilee70 or a paper copy can be obtained from your local Portsmouth library.
Portsmouth City Council is planning two Big Lunch events in the North and South of the city on Sunday 5th June 2022. These will be free events for the whole community, to gather outdoors and mark Her Majesty's 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne.
