SummerFest Family Event In Weymouth
A free event, although donations on arrival will be welcomed, by the Weymouth and Portland Round Table, who bring a brand-new event to Redlands Leisure Centre in Weymouth on Saturday 3rd June 2023. The donations being used to support the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and their defibrillator fundraising appeal.
Weymouth and Portland Round Table Chairman Adam Luckhurst said: “SummerFest is shaping up to be not only one of the largest and most popular events in Weymouth this summer, but also the biggest fundraiser in Weymouth and Portland Round Table’s calendar - so save the date of the 3rd of June in your diary now."
"SummerFest has all the makings of a fantastic day out for local families and visitors alike with a jam-packed line up of activities and attractions, including live bands and the opportunity to watch the FA Cup Final all topped off by a grand fireworks display.”
Included in the attractions is a pop-up farmers market, a children's football tournament, rides, falconlry, classic car displays and Combat Lab, but more are being added to the event. This is one of the first announced events at Redlands under their new owners, Active Dorset.
Clive Nelson from Active Dorset said: “We welcome the SummerFest event on the 3rd of June and are looking forward to it. It represents a big new start for Redlands.” It's also great that the Round Table are able to return to fundraising for such good causes, and even if dad wants to watch the FA Cup Final, the rest of the family can be out in the fresh air enjoying the event and with the fireworks, to top the event off.
