Captain & Vice-Captain Named For Weymouth "Damers Blinds" Wildcats
Last night it was announced that James Laker will be captain for the 2019 speedway season for the Weymouth "Damers Blinds" Wildcats, with James Jessop, named as Vice Captain. It's been a turbulent month for the team with the loss of three riders from the originally announced line-up with the league changes, but the team is finally complete with the addition of Andrew Palmer.
James Jessop says from Facebook: "'Obviously I want to thank the promotion for this opportunity. It means a lot to me and my team that I've been trusted for this role and it's one I won't take lightly. I could be called up to captain depending on the team selection and I know the responsibility that comes from that role. Those who know me though will understand I accept any challenge and I enjoy responsibility."
Andrew Palmer won the Chesil Radio Challenge that kicked off the 2018 season, and the 19-year-old completes the team for 2019, which is: James Laker (captain), James Jessop (aka JJ) (vice captain), Francesca Kirtley-Paine (aka Cesca), Jacob Clouting, Andrew Palmer and Jordan Bull.
As we can bring you track news we will and don't forget our final First Bend before the season starts is on the 2nd March from 7pm.
