Tonight the town of Weymouth came together in a vigil for Ukraine at the clock on the seafront.
Councillors joined many residents to take a moment to think of Ukraine’s situation. Candles were lit in both blue and yellow jars to send a message to the Ukraine that they are in our town’s thoughts.
Weymouth mayor Cllr Huckle spoke first to introduce the chaplain who chose an appropriate prayer from another conflict. People were asked to take a moment of quiet reflection and drift away.
It was well respected by most and was a fitting way to send a message from Weymouth to those in the Ukraine that they are in our thoughts.
