Weymouth Communities To Shape Neighbourhoods Of The Future
Weymouth is one of 25 areas in England to have been awarded a share of £3 million of Government funds from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
Weymouth Town Council’s Neighbourhood Planning Group has been awarded £30,000 to develop a design code, which are planning principles of the future, which include specifying building materials and layouts of streets, for example.
The scheme is part of the Government’s Design Code Pathfinder Programme, which will give residents their say on development of new homes, other buildings and amenities, to foster a sense of pride in where they live.
