Weymouth Mayor Plants Tree For Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Weymouth Mayor, Cllr Colin Huckle will be planting a willow tree tomorrow, Friday 11th March 2022, in Radipole Park Gardens.

The mayor will be joined by councillors and members of the Friends of Radipole Park & Gardens. The planting will be taking place at 10.30am.
Weymouth Town Council is organising the ceremony to plant the willow, in support of the Queen's Green Canopy project, an initiative created to mark Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee, which invited people from across the UK to "Plant a Tree for the Jubilee". The willow has been selected by the council's parks team to help reintroduce weeping willow walk following the natural decline of willow trees in the gardens over some years.
If you haven't taken the opportunity to visit Radipole Park & Gardens, this year yet, it will be an ideal opportunity to go along.
