Weymouth Opens Car Parks For Charitable Events In 2022

Weymouth Town Council is offering 4 dates in 2022, when local organisations can use their car parks for free for exciting events that will draw people into the town.

Charities and community groups that are based in Weymouth can now request which car park(s) they would like to use free of charge to help support their event. The areas will be available on 4 dates in Dorset Council operated car parks across Weymouth. However, they cannot be used in December 2022.
The deadline to apply is Monday 14th February 2022 at 5pm, when applications will be shortlisted. Weymouth Town Council's Services Committee will then select 4 organisations to benefit from the offer when it meets at the beginning of March 2022.
Last year, events including Armed Forces Day, beach motorcross, and the Dorset Seafood Festival benefited from this.
Major of Weymouth, Cllr Colin Huckle, said: "The rich diversity of events held in Weymouth are the heartbeat of the town. We are incredibly lucky to have a wide variety of hard-working and committed local organisations and groups who put on over 100 community-based events annually."
