Weymouth Wildcats Are Back In Dorset

The news that was brought to you first on Chesil Radio at 6pm is that the Weymouth "Damers Blinds" Wildcats are racing at the Poole Pirates' stadium in Poole in Dorset.  This great news means that the fans don't have to travel so far to see their team's home meetings.  The stadium located near to the train station makes access great for the supporters and we would like to thank the Pirates' management team in advance for allowing us to continue our speedway presentations with the Wildcats.

Our Nikki Latham broke the news with Martin Peters and James Tresadern, co-promoters of the Wildcats on the phone live during the Drive Time show.   She said: "It is such great news and am so excited that the Wildcats are back in Dorset.  With the Midland and Southern Development Leagues joining together, the travelling was looking really daunting for this season but knowing that home meetings are just down the road, I can breathe a sign of relief, but I am so excited too."

"We continue this year as the team race jacket sponsors and thank James & Martin for their support and help given to Chesil Radio for the previous seasons and the coming season.  It was an honour to make the announcement.  Only a couple of weeks ago things looked bleak with them, losing some great talent to other teams with the league changes, but the team has been rebuilt and can only go up with the new additions."

The dates for the new Midland and Southern Development League, which was combined this season, will be released soon and will be announced here on Chesil Radio as soon as we get them all.

Our coverage this season expands, with Nikki taking out one of our new presenters, Nat Jobling out trackside to learn the ropes, however Nikki will be flying solo at the Poole and Kent Press & Practice days in next couple of months with Nat's first outing to Plymouth on Good Friday for some National League action.

Our next scheduled speedway show, The First Bend is on Saturday, which hopefully all the Wildcats will contribute to and also those who have sadly had to make a difficult choice with their team choices.  When we get more news, we will be exclusively revealing it here on http://www.chesilradio.com.
