Are You A Local Band With Professional Recordings Of Your Music ???

Updated: Aug 24, 2023

Are you a band with gigs in the South West? Or do you have a new music release ?

Chesil Radio loves new music, but following the huge changes in 2020 in radio, we have had to implement a traffic light system for listening to the music submitted. We do receive many submissions and takes approximately 6-8 weeks to hear a submission as we are all volunteers, but don't want to miss out on a great local artist, and is why we have put this out today.

You must be over the age of 18 and have the rights to the music that you are submitting. We have a different submission format for promoters.

Unlike many online stations we don't just have just one genre of music, but also focus on the coastal counties of the South & South West, so you will understand we have been over run with music releases as amalgamations of groups of stations stop playing new music.

Our traffic light system we feel is a fair way to review the music we are sent.

Green - Local artists in our counties / retro stars with new material / songs we have selected and our team have approached for MP3.

Amber - UK-based artists / specialist show genres i.e. rock.

Red - International artists / introduction mentions a genre we do not play. We do not rule out listening to International bands but as we are now broadcasting in just the UK, our priority must go to UK artists.

We are a family friendly station, so we will immediately reject any songs with swearing as standard, with the exception of rock music, that will be passed to our rock show team. We do not play hip hop, dub step, grime, garage, rap or similar as we are predominately retro of 1970s to 1990s, however a good song will make it to our new music playlist.

We do have a chargeable package for song of the week, which would include additional social media promotion and play during the live shows on the station, we some times select outstanding songs which are not paid for this service, please email: newmusic@chesilradio.com for more details, these are usually from the Green category.

All submissions must be sent to: newmusic@chesilradio.com and any songs that we select for our new music playlist, which will play on Saturdays and Sundays, will be tagged with the details provided, either website or facebook page when it plays on the shows.
