£1000 Raised For Local Charities Over Past Few Weeks And More To Come

Chesil Radio is proud to announce that they have been able to raise at The "Award Winning" Royal Oak at Lodmoor Hill in Weymouth over £1,000.

Starting in February with £400 for the Weymouth Street Pastors, £600 for the Veterans Hub in Wyke and additional funds from the quiz nights at The Waterloo in the Park District of Weymouth and our new location The Britannia Inn in Fortuneswell for the day-to-day running of Chesil Radio which is a not for profit online station run by volunteers for nearly 9 years.

The Weymouth Street Pastors have secured another venue later this month at The Golden Lion in Weymouth Town Centre for another quiz night, which Chesil Radio will host.

At the same time, we presented the Weymouth Street Pastors with Chesil Radio's Pay It Forward Award For February. This award is presented each month to recognise people and organisations within our counties that have gone above and beyond for the local community.

Our second charity quiz night at The Royal Oak was this week on Thursday for the Weymouth Veterans Hub in Wyke. Chesil Radio met them many years ago before the Hub existed and they used to meet on a Thursday at the old Condor Ferries building. It was an honour for our Nikki to again host to fundraise for such a great cause, this time raising £600 for the Hub.

Our next fundraiser for the Weymouth Street Pastors is on the same day as the final Dog Friendly Social walk on the beach for the Winter season. We will be at the Golden Lion in Weymouth town centre.

We would just like to thank Joe and his team at The "Award Winning" Royal Oak on Dorchester Road, Weyline Taxis for their Weyline Wonga, Kath and her team at The Waterloo and Carl and Wendy at The Britannia Inn for all their support and all those who have taken part and/or donated raffle prizes for the events.

We look forward to seeing you at our Weymouth Street Pastors event on the 28th or our regular Tuesday Nights at The Waterloo, Weymouth or Fridays at The Britannia Inn, Portland.
