Heart Of The Community As The Defibrillators Are Installed In Weymouth

In October 2023, we had the pleasure of accompanying the enthusiastic fundraising walkers on their remarkable journey from Portland to West Bay. We even provided the beers at the end of the walk. Our Chesil Radio team also organised an engaging quiz night to gather funds for a noble cause: installing defibrillators at two esteemed Weymouth Pubs, namely The Dolphin on Park Street and The Royal Oak on Dorchester Road, Lodmoor Hill.

Thanks to the overwhelming support, they were able to go above and beyond their initial goal. An additional defibrillator was purchased for the esteemed Veterans Hub at Wyke, ensuring the safety and well-being of our beloved veterans.

The events held at The Waterloo, The Dolphin, and The Royal Oak, both before and after the walk, were a resounding success, with a special veterans mile adding a touching touch to the occasion.

Today, the successful installation of the final defibrillator at The Royal Oak, fulfilling all their promises and leaving a lasting impact on our community. Although not online yet for access, it should be shortly and will be available to use shortly.

We awarded the team our Pay It Forward Award for their efforts on the night of the quiz night and we will be awarding our latest award in the next week or so. If you know of a group or organisation who have gone the extra mile, drop us an email: info@chesilradio.com
